The Week That Was #34

Last Sunday, I took Miss C to horse riding after breakfast. She had another good lesson and her teacher is working on her confidence. She's getting there, slowly but surely. After lunch, we played a few games in the garden. It was a gorgeous day. The kids had swimming lessons and Z swam 10 lengths of the big pool. He wasn't even tired afterwards! If that had been me...well I wouldn't have made 10 lengths!

On Monday, it was the first day for Miss C going to school for the full day. I dropped the kids off and came home to sort out my washing and ironing piles. I spent the rest of the day working and reading my college notes. When I picked the kids up, I expected Miss C to be shattered but she was full of beans. Z had a birthday party to go to after dinner so Miss C and I dropped him off and came home to watch some TV.

On Tuesday, I dropped the kids off at school and came home to write my college work up. I had to write a reflective account of what makes play important in the Curriculum for Excellence. I struggled at first but then decided just to write it based on my own understanding and experience. I picked the kids up from school and we came home to do Z's math homework. It took him less than 2 minutes to do as they are going over the 2 and 5 timetables and Z is really confident with his timetables. The kids played outside after dinner and we watched some TV before story and bedtime.

On Wednesday, I had a bit of a lazy day at home. It won't be much longer until my days are filled with pre-schoolers and essays so I'm making the most of the peace. I picked the kids up from school and we came home to have snack and play hopscotch. Miss C decided Felix needed a nap in her baby's cot.

On Thursday, I headed in to town to pick up some bits and had a nosy around the shops. After lunch, I got my nails done this gorgeous colour which is called Mermaid. I picked the kids up from school and Miss C had a big graze on her nose and knee from when she fell at playtime. Thankfully, it wasn't too bad and they had already had their class photo done the day before.

On Friday, I dropped the kids off at school and went for my food shopping. When I came home, I put the food shop away and got on with cleaning the house. I picked the kids up and we came home to play with some new toys Miss C received in the post. She was super excited to try the Leapfrog LeapReader. I love it because it doesn't need batteries; you charge in through a USB cable! Z had his karate training class which he went to with his friend. Miss C and I cuddled up on the couch together and watched videos of very cute sloth babies!

On Saturday, the kids were up early which surprised me as I thought they'd be tired after a late night and a week of school. We took Z to karate then came home to have lunch. When Husband got in from work, we decided to go to the park for a walk. The kids had a great time exploring and getting messy. They were hanging from trees, picking blackberries and eating them and feeding the animals. We came home, exhausted and hungry, had a yummy steak dinner and apple crumble and custard for pudding and then watched Xfactor together.
