Sloth Slept On - Book Review

I was so excited when Sloth Slept On arrived in the post for us to review. I adore sloths and I'm forever watching videos of them...they are just so cute! The kids were equally excited to read this book as they love sloths too. Miss C wants a pet one but, in the same way we can't have a tiger, a lemur or a...., I told her sloths have to stay in the Rainforest, where they belong.

Sloth Slept On is written by Frann Preston-Gannon, author of The Journey Home and Dinosaur Farm. Three children find a creature sleeping in a tree in their garden but they don't know what kind of creature it is. They try to ask it but, being a sloth, it carries on sleeping. They set off on a mission to try and find out what kind of creature they have found and where it might belong.

The children eventually find out that the creature is a sloth and they learn all about the sloth from a book. They decide to help the sloth get back home...all whilst the sloth stays sleeping.

We absolutely love this book and we've read it over and over. It is funny and easy to read. We loved the facts about the sloth, (which we already knew being such crazy sloth lovers!) and the book is brilliantly illustrated. A definite new favourite in our book collection.

Sloth Slept On is a hardback picture book available to buy from Amazon.

We received this book for the purposes of a review. The opinions expressed are my own.
