The Week That Was #31

Last Sunday, it was a pretty miserable day. It rained and it rained some more. We decided to stay indoors and enjoy a day of sorting (me) and playing (Daddy and kids). They emptied the full Lego box and had a great time creating and building. We decided to order Chinese food for dinner and we had a little picnic on the carpet in the living room. We also enjoyed some ice cream for dessert.

On Monday, it was another miserable day. We were going to go swimming but it was so wet and dreary, we decided to stay home. The kids played with the Lego again pretty much all day, breaking for lunch and dinner. After a shower, we cuddled up in my bed to watch some TV before bedtime. We also read a book together about a little white cat who reminds us of Casper.

On Tuesday, after a workout and a shower, the kids and I headed to the library to kill some time before my Doctor's appointment. We hadn't been to the library in such a long time. The kids each chose 5 books. Z was super excited to find some new books to read especially since he is running low on new books to read from his cupboard. We also ran in to his best friend so they spent some time catching up. We had baked potatoes for dinner and then headed to bed with the new books to read.

On Wednesday, we decided we'd go for a bike ride after lunch as it was a lovely morning. However, the heavens opened around 12.30 and it didn't stop until after 3pm! The kids enjoyed watching a DVD and when it eventually stopped raining, they headed outside to ride their bikes.

On Thursday, it was a lovely morning again and thankfully, this time, the rain held off all day. We decided to go to the swimming pool and we walked there and back. It's such good exercise for the kids and I. They had a great time playing in the pool and going down the slide. After dinner, I let them play a little bit of Minecraft before they went to bed.

On Friday, the kids headed to my MIL's house for a sleepover. She picked them up at 10.30 which meant Husband and I had the full day to ourselves. We spent it watching TV. Sometimes you just need to not do anything and it was great. We watched a bit of The Big Bang Theory, caught up on Hollyoaks and watched a film. We had lots of junk to eat too.

On Saturday, the kids came home from my MIL's at 12pm. They told us all about their trip to the beach and having pizza and ice cream for dinner. It rained for most of the day but when it dried up, Husband took the kids for a bike ride. I made steak pie for dinner which was yummy and we watched a film together afterwards.
