It was Columbus day on day 9 of our trip and, figuring the parks would be really busy, we decided to go the outlets to do some shopping instead.
Husband left the hotel early as he went to pick up our hire car. I had arranged the car hire before we left the UK and as we were only going to be using the car for a few days, I hired a small Kia. Of course, Husband returned with the upgraded Mustang instead. Men and their toys! It was a lovely, lovely car though and it was good fun to drive with the top down!
After having breakfast at the hotel, we headed to the Vineland Outlets as they are the closest outlets to Disneyworld. We downloaded the app Navmii which you can use as a sat nav without it using your data allowance. It was really easy to use, especially being on unfamiliar roads.
There are two main outlets in Orlando; Vinelands and International Drive Premium Outlets. If you register on their website before you go, you can collect a discount booklet free of charge from the information desk inside the food courts by showing them your registration email. Definitely worth doing to get some extra bargains.
We headed in to the Disney outlet shop first so the kids could have a look and spend some of their holiday money. There wasn't much there but Miss C did manage to get Angus, the horse from Brave, for just $12 compared with the $20+ something similar would cost in Disneyworld.
We visited Ralph Lauren for Husband and Z, Tommy Hilfiger and Timberland for the kids, Converse for us all and Michael Kors for my birthday presents. I picked out two bags although Miss C claimed one for herself. I also picked up a purse for my Sister for her Christmas. Husband treated me to a pair of Ray-Bans that I had been lusting after for awhile as my birthday treat from him.
We had lunch at the Vineland outlets and then headed to a few more shops. I wanted to get UGG boots for myself and Miss C but they didn't have any I liked and I didn't find them any cheaper than back home once I factored in the exchange rate and my student discount.
We left the Vineland outlets to get some dinner at around 6pm. After dinner, we decided to drive over to Mall at Millenia which houses some of the more upmarket stores. We also wanted to get some cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. Mall at Millenia was amazing and after gazing at Louboutin and Jimmy Choo shoes, we grabbed our cheesecake to go and headed to the International Drive outlets before they closed at 11pm.
I got Miss C her UGG boots there; grey bailey button boots that she picked herself. We had another look around some of the shops but both outlets are much the same to be honest.
We headed back to the hotel just after 10pm, ready for bed. Here is a short video we made of the day...
