366 Project 2016 Days 17 - 23

On Sunday, we woke up fairly early and decided to stay in bed and watch a film together. After breakfast, Miss C and I got ready for a birthday party she had been invited too. The roads were quite bad from the snow the day before but I managed to get her to the party in one piece! She had a lot of fun at the party and it was lovely to see who she played with from her class. After the party, we headed home to collect Husband and Z as we were heading out for dinner with friends for Husband's birthday. We went to Cosmo which is a buffet restaurant. The food was really good and we were all full to bursting when we were finished.

On Monday, it was Husband's birthday. Sadly he had to work which Miss C definitely disapproved of! If only we could take our birthdays off work or school! I went to placement and the kids went to school. It was another quick day! I picked the kids up from my friend's house and we headed home to do their homework. We had chili con carne for dinner which was really yummy! Z received the Pupil of the Week award at school! It's been a good month at school for us!

On Tuesday, I headed back to placement for the day. It always goes quickly in placement because you are kept busy! I picked the kids up from my friend's house and we walked home. It was cold but it was dry and it was great to get out for some fresh air. Miss C and I did her homework when we got in and Z played Xbox. After dinner, the kids tidied their rooms, had a shower and we read a new book we hadn't read before by Julia Donaldson called Mirror-Belle and the Dragon Pox.

On Wednesday, it was my day off. As last week was the end of semester one of college, I didn't have any work to do so instead I did some blog work and listened to some throwback mixes on YouTube. It was a 3 slices of toast kind of day too. Z went on a school trip to the Science centre as part of STEM fortnight and said it was amazing. After dinner, we took Husband to pick up his car as it was having some work done to it for its MOT at the end of this month.

On Thursday, I went to college after dropping the kids off at school. It was the start of semester two so we had new classes including our graded unit class. Our graded unit is the biggest part of the course aside from our SVQ work so it is a big class to take in but I'm looking forward to researching my topic which is STEM. I picked the kids up from my friend's when I finished and we headed home for pasta for dinner. The kids had macaroni and I had spaghetti with some spring onion and tomatoes.

On Friday, I headed to college for a half day as I had an interview in the afternoon for a job which went really well and I've been offered a position which is fab! I won't start full time until I finish college but I can do some work whilst I'm at college until then. We watched a movie after dinner; Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2. The kids love this film. We enjoyed some Chewy Chewy Caramel ice cream from Asda's own range. It tastes better than the Ben & Jerry's flavour!

On Saturday, Husband was working so I took Z to Karate and headed to Asda to do a quick food shop. When we got home, we cleaned the gerbils out. They are never happy when we give them new bedding because they have to rebuild their home. We had lunch; baguettes for the kids and some delicious tomato and lentil soup for me. It had quite a kick to it. Husband and I washed our cars when he got home. I got him to wash my alloys and roof though cause he does them better and he can reach. The kids went for a bike ride afterwards, collecting Z's best friend on the way and headed to the park. It was great to get out in the fresh air now the snow and rain have decided to take a break.
