31 Day Blogging Challenge - My Biggest Regret

Mistakes happen in life. It's just part of growing up; you make a mistake, you learn from it and you move on. Therefore I try not to dwell on things that have happened or, in some cases, haven't happened and look to the future and what it may hold.

There are some things from my teenage years that I did that I really regret happening and if I could go back and change those things, I would. However they also made me the person I am today and maybe if they hadn't happened then life wouldn't have turned out quite as it has.

I guess if I had to pick something that I regret then it would be taking as long as I have to finally start doing a job I really, really enjoy. I left high school with amazing grades. I got in to my first choice college to study A Level psychology, biology, English, Math and performing arts. What did I do? I decided that college was no fun unless we were getting drunk and partying.

I left college and moved back to Scotland to live with my Dad. I had to get a job. I started working in McDonalds although that didn't last long as I hated it. As soon as I turned 18, I got a job working for a bank and I was there for over 10 years before deciding that enough was enough. I applied to college and here I am now, 2 years later, fully qualified and furthering my studies to gain a degree in Early Education. I wish I had done it sooner because I absolutely love it but I think the experiences that I have had over the last 12 years have made me a better, more professional, more knowledgeable and focused person.

So I don't dwell on the things from the past. Could they have been very different? Yes. Would I change anything? Yes. Did I learn from it? Absolutely.
