31 Day Blogging Challenge - What I'm Afraid Of

I'm not keen on spiders, especially the big ones that seem to appear from nowhere, scuttle across your floor at 100mph and do a disappearing act on you, leaving you wondering where and when this beastie is going to reappear!

I don't like wasps. I'm not keen on bees either but I know that they won't sting unless they feel threatened. Once I was in the toilets at Tesco and a bee flew out of a gap in the ceiling and landed on my leg. Where it had landed though, it would have been at my crouch had I pulled my jeans up. This thing was massive and it was buzzing which freaked me right out. I was literally shaking, sweating and scared to move. Eventually I summoned up enough courage to grab the bee in a very large handful of toilet roll and throw it in the toilet. I must have been in the bathroom for at least 10 minutes and I was so relieved to get out. I thought I was going to die in a Tesco toilet!

Those are just two of my fears but they are small in comparison to what I'm afraid of. I'm sure any parent will agree when I say that my biggest fear is even the thought of something happening to my children.

Sometimes I'll be watching a programme on TV where something will happen involving a child and I picture it happening to Z or Miss C and I literally feel sick with fear. I'll be close to tears and have to give myself a shake to remind me that it isn't them and it isn't going to be them.

I really don't know what I would do if anything ever happened to them. not just as kids but even as adults. Of course, they can't be wrapped in cotton wool; they need freedom to make their own mistakes and learn from them. They need to learn to take risks. But that doesn't stop me worrying about them and I don't think I ever will stop worrying about them.
