A Breath of Fresh Air

As Spring approaches and the days get a little brighter, I love being able to get outdoors with the kids more. As much as I love the cosiness of Winter and being indoors, under a blanket and sipping hot drinks, I really do much prefer being outside in the sunshine. Of course, we still need to wrap up; it isn't shorts and t-shirt weather quite yet!

We are lucky that where we live, there are parks to visit and fields to run through in almost every direction. As much as we'd love to move house, we definitely wouldn't leave the town we live in because we are truly spoiled to have such greenery everywhere. If we want to go on a big walk with plenty of sights to see, there is one on our doorstep. Somewhere to ride a bike? Just up the road. A country park with animals? Within walking distance. A park to play in? At least 3 a stone's throw away.

I didn't grow up with woods or grass nearby. Some may say I was even more lucky to grow up in the sunshine with a swimming pool on our back door step but, after living in Mexico city where the pollution is so bad that at least once a week you aren't allowed to drive your car on the roads, I can't think of anywhere I'd rather my kids grew up. The air is so fresh you can actually feel it almost cleaning your lungs when you breathe it in.

We are so lucky that something that seems so very ordinary, like fresh air, grass and tree and something we probably take for granted are there for us to enjoy whenever we wish.
