How We Spent Mother's Day

It was a beautiful morning when I woke on Mother's Day. Husband had already seen to the kids, although to be honest, he hadn't been to bed because he had stayed up at a friend's house to watch the Conor McGregor fight and didn't get home until 7.15am by which time Miss C was awake. Nevertheless, he gave them breakfast and then brought them up when he noticed I was awake (signed it to Facebook!)

The kids gave me a card, flowers and a Jimmy Choo perfume which was lovely of them. I don't expect gifts on Mother's Day, just a cup of tea in bed which Husband brought for me.

Husband was shattered so we decided that everyone should stay in our bed and watch a movie. It was so nice to be cuddled up together.

After lunch, we headed in to town to a tile shop to pick out the tiles for our new bathroom. It wasn't my idea of fun to be honest. I can just about cope with picking out paint or carpets but tile shopping was pretty boring. I told Husband he could decide what to do with the bathroom so long as it wasn't white again; a nightmare to keep clean. I think he's going for a grey/slate theme with black flooring with the white suite.

We headed to dinner at one of our favourite restaurants. Husband was excited as they had a carvery on and whilst it did look pretty good, I settled for my usual Cajun chicken with rice and vegetables. Miss C had chicken tempura and Z had a cheeseburger. I had a passion fruit and lemon cheesecake for pudding which was delicious!

After dinner, we headed back home to get ready for bed. It was such a lovely day and one that I will always love being able to spend with my little family.
