On Sunday, I got up with the kids around 9.15am. Husband had been out the night before at a friend's house and, although he hadn't been drinking, he didn't get home until 2am so he was pretty tired. We decided to go swimming in the afternoon, something we haven't done in a long time. In fact, the last time we were in a pool was when we were in Florida! The kids had a brilliant time and I think we need to get into the routine of going more often again. We had a really yummy pudding for dinner; a cookie pie with ice cream. Delicious!
It was back to work and school on Monday. School finishes up on Thursday for the summer holidays but I think I'll be working right through if I get the opportunity to do so. We've no holidays planned for this summer as we have my sister's wedding and our 10 year anniversary coming up but we're hoping to have a few day trips here and there. After dinner, I had a bubble bath because I was so tired and I just wanted to chill out before bed time.
Tuesday was a miserable day weather wise. It was pouring when we got home! We had spaghetti bolognaise for dinner; a firm family favourite. After dinner, the kids got ready for bed and I got everything prepared for the next day. I find it so much easier doing all the prep work the night before because it saves the rushing about in the morning.
On Wednesday, it was another busy day at work and then a mad dash home to get some cleaning done before dinner. It's a simple oven dinner on Wednesdays; scampi, chips and spaghetti hoops!
On Thursday, I worked a half day so I could pick the kids up from school as they finished at 1pm. Time for the summer holidays. Charlotte went to a friend's house for a couple of hours and had a great time whilst Zachary had his best friend over for dinner. We ordered Chinese and Husband brought home some Krispy Kremes.
I didn't have to work on Friday as it is a local holiday here so the kids and I walked in to town to run some errands and go to the Doctors for the dreaded 3 yearly appointment! We saw some very cute cygnets in the park! When we got home, the kids played outside with some of the children from our street. They were out until tea time; something I hope will continue throughout the holidays!
On Saturday, Zachary didn't have Karate as they are closed for the holidays but Charlotte and I still had to go and get the shopping for the week. We went to visit our niece for a few hours and I enjoyed a doughnut with a cup of tea. After dinner we went to see The Secret Life of Pets which was very funny!
