Porridge Made Easy - Recipe

I've been craving porridge for a few weeks now and remembered to buy some at the weekend. Porridge is such a warming, comforting breakfast during the colder months and it's super filling too.

I know people hate porridge because it can be so flavourless if you don't spend a bit of time on it the night before. My Mum makes amazing porridge and I use her recipe whenever I fancy some.

The biggest part of making tasty porridge is to buy good quality oats. I bought Mornflake Oats because I love their Granola and their oats are really creamy and soft.

I soak the oats overnight in milk and a little bit of golden syrup. You could use almond milk if you prefer but I just use semi-skimmed milk. If you don't like syrup, add honey or jam. You can also add in some cinnamon or nutmeg to give it a bit of spice.

I heat the porridge on a very low flame because you don't want it to stick to the pan and end up horrible and lumpy.

Once it's warmed through, I pour it into a bowl and add chopped fresh fruit. You can put any kind of fruit in it but I love berries. Delicious!
