All About Us

My name is Laura, I'm in my 20s, I'm a qualified Early Years Practitioner (a nursery teacher) and I'm also a freelance writer. I've grown up around the world, I have more immediate family than I have fingers to count them with and I was once in a local paper for singing Old MacDonald at the age of 4 in a Spanish Karaoke bar. The man on my right is Husband. He's hardworking, super kind and would do anything for anyone. He's a biker, a gym enthusiast, a technology geek and a film fanatic.

Husband and I met in 2003, were married in 2006 and welcomed our beautiful boy Z in to the world in 2007. You can read his birth story here. Z turned our world upside down but in a good way. He amazes us every day. He is intelligent, friendly, charming, talkative, cheeky and extremely loyal to his friends. He loves LEGO, Xbox 360, reading as many books (fact or fiction) as possible and Karate. Z is our gifted child and you can read all about his school life here.

In October 2008, we found out we were expecting again. Miss C, our beautiful girl, was born in 2009. You can read her birth story here. She completed our little family of four and has us all under her spell. She is cute, charming, considerate, chatty, cheeky and the biggest animal lover I know. She has a passion for horse riding and wants to be a vet when she grows up. She loves Disney, Sylvanian Families, Playmobil and Build a Bear. She loves going shopping although only when it is for her clothes or shoes.

Yummy Mummy Flabby Tummy was born in July 2009. I decided I wanted to keep a blog of our lives as parents but to also offer me a creative outlet for my writing, photography and videos. The name for my blog had a great deal of thought behind it...it didn't really, I just liked that it rhymed. Mostly my blog is about parenting and family life however I do love fashion (especially for children), beauty, photography, travel and days out, cooking and baking, books, technology and keeping fit.

Thank you for visiting and sharing in our journey as a family of four...with 3 cats thrown in for good measure.
